Cashback

Configure how customers earn cashback at your shop. The cashback engine has three modes.

Why cashback matters to your shop

Cashback is the core loyalty mechanism on Bione. It turns one-time buyers into repeat customers — they earn credit on each purchase and come back to spend it. The shops that configure cashback well see higher customer retention and larger average orders.

Why you choose the mode

Different businesses have different margins and customer patterns. A grocery store with thin margins might use a flat 2% rate. A boutique with high margins might use tiered rewards to encourage repeat visits. The mode you choose reflects your business strategy.

How to choose a mode

When cashback is off, you pick one of three cards:

  1. Keep cashback off — existing balances can still be spent, but no new cashback is earned.
  2. Flat rate — reward every sale with the same percentage. Enter the percentage and an optional earn expiry (days).
  3. Tier-based — reward customers more as their lifetime spend grows. Manage the tiers below.

When to keep cashback off

Only temporarily — for example during a rebranding, a system migration, or when you need to restructure your tiers. Customers with existing balances can still spend them, but they won't earn new cashback until you turn it back on.

When to use flat rate

When your margins are consistent across products and you want simplicity. Set one percentage and every customer earns the same rate. Easiest to explain to customers and easiest to manage.

When to use tier-based

When you want to reward your best customers more. Higher tiers = higher earn rates = an incentive for customers to consolidate their spending at your shop. More complex to manage, but more effective at building loyalty.

How to configure flat rate

  • Percentage (0–100, up to 2 decimals).
  • Earn expiry (days, optional) — how long earned cashback stays valid.
  • Welcome bonus (so'm, optional) — a first-purchase incentive.
  • Referral settings: mode (Off / One-time / Ongoing / Time-boxed), the referral percentage, and a window (days).

A note on this screen: per-product cashback (set on each product) takes priority over this flat rate.

When to set a welcome bonus

Use it when you're new to Bione and need to attract first-time customers. A welcome bonus lowers the barrier — customers get instant credit for joining. Remove it once you have a stable customer base.

When to configure referrals

Referrals bring new customers through word-of-mouth. Use "One-time" for a simple reward (friend gets X, you get Y). Use "Ongoing" if you want to reward repeat referrals. "Time-boxed" is useful for campaigns.

How to configure tier-based

  • Tier basis — Lifetime spend / Per-sale amount / Per-period spend.
  • Reset period (when you chose a per-period basis) — Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly.
  • Tier cards — each tier shows its name, percentage, thresholds, validity days, and how many customers are in it. Add tier opens the tier form.

Tier form fields

  • Tier name (unique, max 64).
  • Cashback percentage (0–100).
  • Min threshold (label changes with the basis: "Min lifetime spend", "Min order amount", or "Min period spend").
  • Max threshold (optional, must be greater than min).
  • Validity days toggle + number (for lifetime basis) — how long a tier lasts once reached.
  • Earn expiry toggle + number — a "cashback hold duration".
  • Active window toggle + date range (From / To) — schedule when the tier is active.

When to use per-period spend

If you want tiers to reset periodically (monthly, quarterly, yearly), use "Per-period spend" with the appropriate reset period. This ensures customers maintain their tier by shopping regularly, not just historically.

When to set a validity window

Use the Active window for promotional tiers — for example "Gold tier at 3% during Ramadan". The tier automatically activates and deactivates on the dates you set.

How to use cashback wallets

The Cashback wallets screen views balances across your customers:

  • Stats cards — Outstanding balance / Earned this month / Used this month / Expiring (30d), each with a customer count.
  • Search — find a customer.
  • Sort — Balance, Lifetime Earned, or Last Activity.
  • Table — Customer, Tier, Balance, Lifetime Earned, Last Activity.

Clicking a row opens the customer's cashback ledger (every credit and debit). Use Export to download the data, or Program Settings to go back to the cashback engine.

When to check wallets

Weekly. Look at:

  • Expiring — customers with expiring cashback may need a reminder to spend.
  • Outstanding balance — large balances mean customers are accumulating but not redeeming. Consider a redemption promotion.
  • Last Activity — customers with old activity may have churned. A targeted offer might bring them back.

How to adjust a balance

From a customer's detail (see Customers) you can manually adjust cashback:

  1. Tap Adjust cashback.
  2. Choose Credit or Debit — the direction.
  3. Enter the amount (UZS).
  4. Enter a reason (required) — an audit note.

This is a staff action; it's recorded in the ledger.

When to manually adjust

  • Goodwill credit — compensate a customer for a bad experience.
  • Correction — fix an error (for example, cashback was incorrectly deducted).
  • Promotional credit — give a VIP customer extra balance as a gesture.

Always include a clear reason — the ledger is auditable and the customer can see it.
